Compassionate Residential Care in Emsworth and Prinsted

Choosing a care home for yourself or someone close to you is a big decision. Naturally, you want to know that the care will be right, but there is much more to consider. Will it feel comfortable? Will there be people to talk to? Will there be enjoyable things to do each day? And, importantly, will it begin to feel like home?

At Springfield Care Homes, our family-run residential care homes in Emsworth and Prinsted have provided compassionate care and support for more than 30 years. Our focus is on helping residents feel safe, comfortable and supported, while continuing to enjoy as much choice and independence as possible.

Both Springfield Care Home and Prinsted Care Home offer comfortable living spaces, landscaped gardens, home-cooked meals and a busy programme of activities, all supported by experienced care teams.

Person-Centred Care That Feels Personal

Good care is about understanding the person, not simply providing practical support.

Every resident arrives with their own routines, interests, preferences and life experiences. Taking the time to understand these is an important part of helping someone settle into their new surroundings.

Our experienced care teams are available 24 hours a day, offering compassionate support while respecting the dignity and independence of each resident.

Springfield Care Homes provides long-term residential care alongside short-term respite care and convalescence stays. You can find out more about the different options on our care services page.

Comfortable Residential Care Homes in Hampshire

The surroundings in which someone lives can make an enormous difference to how settled they feel.

Our homes have been designed to provide comfortable bedrooms alongside welcoming communal spaces where residents can relax, enjoy meals or spend time with other people.

Springfield Care Home is in Emsworth, only a short walk from the waterfront, while Prinsted Care Home sits in the peaceful village of Prinsted. Both offer attractive landscaped gardens and outdoor areas where residents can enjoy some fresh air, sit with visiting family and friends or simply enjoy a quiet moment outside.

Several lounge and seating areas give residents the choice to spend time with others or find somewhere quieter to read, watch television or relax.

Fresh Home-Cooked Food Every Day

Mealtimes are an important part of daily life, giving residents a chance to sit together, chat and enjoy good food.

At Springfield and Prinsted, meals are home-cooked and prepared on site, with menus created to provide residents with nutritious and enjoyable choices.

We also understand that dietary requirements can change as people get older. Meals can therefore be adapted to suit individual dietary needs, with nutrition forming an important part of supporting residents’ overall health and wellbeing.

Breakfast includes a choice of cooked and lighter options, followed by a varied selection of meals throughout the day. Residents can dine in comfortable surroundings, including spaces overlooking the gardens.

Our approach to nutrition and wellness at Springfield Care Homes explains more about why good nutrition is such an important part of the care we provide.

Staying Active and Enjoying Each Day

Moving into residential care doesn’t mean giving up the hobbies, conversations and activities that make everyday life enjoyable.

Our social activity programme runs seven days a week, giving residents regular opportunities to join in whenever they would like to.

Activities vary throughout the year and can include exercise sessions, quizzes, arts and crafts, entertainment, coffee mornings, music, games, seasonal celebrations and trips out.

Not everyone wants a packed social diary, so quieter options are always available. Our Social Care Activity Coordinators help residents find activities they enjoy without expecting everyone to take part in the same thing. Our care home activities and events give families an idea of what is happening across our homes.

Enjoying the Outdoors at Springfield and Prinsted

Fresh air and time outside can make a real difference to a person’s day.

Both Springfield and Prinsted have landscaped gardens, patios and outdoor relaxation areas, providing residents with pleasant spaces away from the main indoor living areas.

On warmer days, residents can enjoy the gardens or spend time outside with visiting family and friends.

We also arrange outings so residents can remain connected with the surrounding area, including trips to local beauty spots and places around Emsworth.

Maintaining that connection with the wider community is something we value. Moving into a care home shouldn’t mean losing touch with the places and experiences someone has always enjoyed. Follow us on social media to see some of our recent adventures.

Independent Living at Prinsted

Residential care isn’t necessarily the right choice for everyone.

Some people are still able to live independently but would feel more comfortable knowing that help is nearby should they need it.

Our independent living lodges in Prinsted offer another option for those who would value greater reassurance without giving up their independence.

Bluebell Lodge and Lavender Lodge are purpose-built, fully furnished homes located alongside Prinsted Care Home. Bluebell is designed for single occupancy, while the larger Lavender Lodge can accommodate an individual or couple.

Each lodge includes a bedroom, lounge and dining area, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom facilities, allowing residents to enjoy the independence of having their own home.

At the same time, support is close by.

Residents have access to a call bell linked to the main home, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. They can join residents in the main dining room for meals and take part in the home’s social activities if they choose.

It can also provide a helpful longer-term care pathway. If someone’s needs increase over time, additional support can be discussed without having to immediately leave familiar surroundings.

A Community Where People Can Feel at Home

One of the things we want residents to experience at Springfield and Prinsted is a genuine sense of belonging.

Our homes are places where people live, not simply places where care is provided. That means getting to know residents properly, from how somebody likes their tea to the activities they enjoy.

Regular events, outings, visiting entertainers and social activities all play their part, but often it is the smaller everyday moments that matter most: sharing a meal, chatting in the lounge or enjoying a cup of tea together.

Our family-run approach has shaped Springfield Care Homes for more than three decades, and you can read more about our approach to care and our values.

Come and See Springfield and Prinsted for Yourself

A website can give you useful information about a care home, but there is no substitute for visiting in person.

A visit gives you the chance to see the bedrooms, communal areas and gardens, meet the team and discuss which care option may be most suitable.

If you are considering residential care, respite care, convalescence care or independent living for yourself or someone close to you, we would be happy to show you around.
